The new, fully accessible DLR extension to Stratford International has opened a year ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The £211m, six km extension from Stratford International station to Canning Town includes four new stations and refurbishments to three existing stations.
This route serves Westfield Stratford City, Europe’s largest shopping centre; the Olympic Park; and connects five London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic venues.
Longer three-carriage trains now operate on our busiest routes: Bank to Lewisham; Stratford to Canary Wharf and Tower Gateway to Beckton.
Preparations for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and construction of the Crossrail link mean planned engineering works will continue throughout the year.
Works have been planned to have the minimum of impact on passengers, with most work taking place at weekends and at night. This work may cause disruption to services and those living around the work sites. However, we will always aim to limit inconvenience to a minimum.
