DLR and The Wharf  Young Journalist of the Year Competition

Enter to win £100 and get your article published in The Wharf!

Docklands Light Railway has been connecting people and places in the Docklands and East London for nearly 25 years and we are always keen to find out what is happening in this vibrant and ever-changing part of London. That’s why we’ve teamed up with The Wharf to launch our ‘Young Journalist of the Year’ competition.

The competition aims to uncover budding journalistic talent in the area by asking 14-21 year olds to enter a 500 word article about east London.

It could be a report or review of an event you've been to, an interview about something happening in the area or an opinion piece.

Maybe you know someone who's done something extraordinary or who's gearing up for a huge challenge.

Perhaps you have strong views on the change and redevelopment east London is experiencing.

Whatever you decide to write about, we're looking for well-researched stories or comment pieces that will capture imaginations and reflect the vibrant, exciting corner of the capital that the DLR has done so much to regenerate and grow.

The winner's article will be published in The Wharf in March, for the paper's 50,000 readers to enjoy as well as at wharf.co.uk. The Winner will receive the title of The Wharf and DLR Young Journalist of the Year and £100 prize. The winning entry will be selected by The Wharf editorial team in collaboration with DLR. The closing date for competition entries is March 22. To enter go to wharf.co.uk and click the competitions link.
